Over seven million tickets for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
Over seven million tickets for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games were put on sale this Sunday, informed the organizing committee of the fair summer (BOCOG). The sale of tickets to the sports program for excellence in formal meeting started. The opening and closing ceremonies are the most requested. Due to demand, the Organising Committee of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games decided that only sell a ticket per person for those wishing to attend either of the two ceremonies.
“As for the policy of one ticket per person, I think it is a problem. China has a large population, and is a problem for us give the people a chance to see the games, “said executive vice president and secretary general of BOCOG, Wang Wei. He added that “the sale of tickets will be conducted in accordance with the criteria more efficient, fair and open, and respond to internationally accepted practices.”
For high-demand sports as basketball, swimming, gymnastics and athletics will be sold two tickets per person, and in other competitions with fewer applications each viewer may acquire from three to five. Of the total entries, 75 percent will be sold in China, and the remainder throughout the world through the National Olympic Committees. For Closing ceremonies and / or opening some 60 thousand will be sold to the general public of 91 thousand available.
